Other Things To Do
We include lots of tours, talks, & opportunities to paint, sketch, hike or photograph in our courses but if you want more, here are other opportunities in the abiquiu area!
IN SYNC WITH HORSES
Horses have played an important role in the culture of the Southwest. Experience communication with beautiful horses high on an Abiquiu mesa. You will have dramatic 360 views of Pedernal, the Sangre de Cristo and Jemez mountains and overlook two of Georgia O'Keeffe's painting sites! Rebecca Rose Smith, a professional equine trainer and co-leader of Experience O'Keeffe developed the innovative "Abiquiu Equine Experience" to enable even non-riders to make a heart connection with horses through biometric digital feedback technology featuring the Game of HeARTS. This Level 1 session does not require experience with horses to participate and the cost is $69/person. Follow the link below for more information. Please let us know if we can assist you to schedule a session.
ABIQUIU ART PROJECT:
The Abiquiu Art Project is designed to give visitors a chance to visit the studios of some of New Mexico's best professional studio artists who live in the Abiquiu area. Abiquiu is a small dispersed community, and because of this it is difficult for visitors to see the work of the local artists. The project gives the visitor entrée.
Our tours meet at the beautiful Abiquiu Inn or Bode's Pink Flamingo . You must register, or call us first. We warmly suggest that you consider having a meal at the Abiquiu Inn or Bode's after your immersion into the studio lives of our remarkable artists. The food and atmosphere of the Abiquiu Inn or Bode's is worth waiting for!
Private tours for individuals and small groups can be arranged by contacting us. We also offer coordination services for larger groups via tour operators, museums, interest/affinity groups and the like. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
